My first book, 'Everything
I've Ever Done That Worked',
grew out of a ringbinder file
of observations and techniques
I had found helpful in my own
quest to be more productive,
more creative and, simply, happier.
It is my own personal guidebook
to happiness. I loved writing
it and I loved exploring ideas
in the form of short essays
and stories. I meant it to be
very reader-friendly and readers
tell me that they treat it as
a companion. You can see me
talking about it on www.meettheauthor.com
It felt natural to use the
same format to explore single
themes. In 'Everything I've
Ever Learned About Love'
I took the great driving mystery
of love and explored the many
ways it manifests in a single
human life. I write about passion
and desire but also about the
love between parents and children,
growing old, love of place and
work, marriage, heart break
and friendship. I have put my
own life into it because I believe
that the personal is universal.
In 'Everything I've Ever
Learned About Change' I
focused on the constant challenge
of change because I realised
that it was all I ever heard
people talk about: change of
relationship, moving house,
new job, losses, gains, confusion.
Change can be thrilling. It
can be daunting. It is always
disturbing, even when it is
longed for. I look at some of
the underlying patterns and
the ways in which we can ride
the ways of change and create
the life we want. To see me

Readers, male and female,
who have discovered these books,
love them and treat them as
friends. They also tend to buy
copies for all their friends,
which makes me very happy.
